Not going to lie, this cafe was incredibly hard to find. But the effort was all worth it because it was one of my favorite experiences in Tokyo so far! The cafe is meant to be a cozy spot where anyone can get away from the bustle of Tokyo and work on their own projects or even catch up with friends. There are tons of books lining the walls with calming music playing. You get unlimited drinks of your choice and can buy foods that come from different books. There weren't a lot of people when I first got in there so I was worried but then groups of people started coming in and the friendships were so fun to see! I talked to the lady working there a bit but I really felt like most of the connection was happening behind the scenes.
This was the only sign I could find of the place and even this was hard to find. Then behind me there was a single door and you had to press a doorbell for them to open it up to you. No signs or anything!
This was the paper that explained how the whole cafe worked. Super useful that they had this. You can read on this paper that there was a little section at the front of the store with all the books that visitors really love and recommend. There were even a few English books.
This was the wall I was sitting at. So many books!! And the chairs were comfy too.
My castle in the sky inspired food.
There were little places you could leave notes if you wanted to! I thought this was such a cute way to connect to other people through your love of books.
My setup with my word doc and my orange juice and food. You can't see my coaster here but apparently there are 21 different types you can get and each one is an excerpt from a book that the owner loves. Again, such a good way to connect through shared love of books.
