Karaoke? Nah, Volleyball
Because I switched my subject to Karaoke, it became quite difficult to find a manga related to that. I used the tablet to search for manga related to my topic, and there was one with the word Karaoke in the name. I went to the section that it told me it was located in, and searched for so long but I could not find it for the life of me. I eventually got tired of looking after about 25 minutes, so I started browsing around that area, and found a book called バレーボーイズ about volleyball! Because my original topic was volleyball I decided to allow myself to count that.
This manga was really interesting because even though it had volleyball in the title, and all of the main characters allegedly play volleyball, I skimmed through the entire first book and didn’t see them play volleyball once. It was more just about their experiences in school, and they sometimes talked about volleyball.
When we went to the 2nd floor manga exhibit museum, it was really cool to see manga from so many different times! I happened to stumble upon another manga about volleyball named サインはV!and it was really cool! In this one they actually played volleyball, but because it was a very old manga it was pretty hard to follow along with the story.
I finished the day by reading an entire volume of my old faithful and favorite manga, haikyuu. I haven’t read or watched it in a long time, so I had forgotten about some of the scenes. The volume I chose was in the finals, and I was getting goosebumps while reading it. It’s such an amazing story that honestly is really realistic to real volleyball! It was really fun to read, and I was surprised with how much of the Japanese I could understand now!
